The 191

$149.99

This first ever prototype for Grand Rapids Watch Company— the 191. Why 191? While no definitive total exists for the total number of Grand Rapidians who made the ultimate sacrifice in the First World War, most sources agree that the number was between 150-250 with 191 being one such estimate. This watch is a re-imagining of an Elgin Trench Watch (visible in the last picture) that a Grand Rapidian officer might have worn while fighting in the war, but updated with a fresh design for today. The 191 is much thinner than it’s inspiration, at a thickness of just 7.5mm with a 16mm strap. It features a modern Miyota quartz movement for fuss free operation; there is no need to set the time or wind the 191.

For this sale, $5 will be donated to a charity yet to be determined.
