One-Year Limited International Warranty

This One-Year Limited International Warranty ("Limited Warranty") is issued by Grand Rapids Watch Company ("GRWC", “GR Watch Co LLC”, "we", "us", or "our") for new wristwatches purchased directly from GRWC or from an authorized GRWC retailer.

This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights which vary by state and country.

1. Warranty Period and Covered Products

1.1 This Limited Warranty applies to each new GRWC watch ("Product") and is valid for one (1) year from the date of original retail purchase shown on your proof of purchase ("Warranty Period").

1.2 Coverage applies automatically; no registration is required. To obtain service, you must provide a valid proof of purchase (order confirmation, sales receipt, or warranty card) and, if present, the Product’s serial number.

1.3 This Limited Warranty is transferable for the remainder of the original Warranty Period, as long as the current owner can present the Product together with the original proof of purchase or warranty card.

2. What This Limited Warranty Covers

During the Warranty Period, and subject to the exclusions below, GRWC warrants that the Product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, as described in the owner’s manual.

Covered components include:

  • Movement

    • Mechanical or quartz movement and its internal components, when used according to the owner’s manual.

    • Examples: a movement that stops, cannot be set, or runs significantly outside our published specifications due to a manufacturing defect.

  • Hands and Dial

    • Hands, indices, logos, and dial printing that become loose, detached, or fail due to defective adhesion or manufacturing defects (not impact damage or moisture caused by misuse).

  • Case, Crown, and Caseback

    • Structural defects in the case, crown, crown tube, or caseback that prevent normal operation of the watch (for example, a defective crown stem interface that makes setting impossible), but not any claims related to water or moisture ingress.

  • Crystal

    • Material or manufacturing defects in the crystal itself (for example, internal lamination defects), excluding any scratches, chips, or cracks caused by impact or misuse and excluding any claims based on water or moisture ingress.

If a covered defect arises during the Warranty Period, GRWC will, at its option and at no charge to you, (a) repair the Product, (b) replace it with the same model or a reasonably equivalent model, or (c) refund the purchase price if repair or replacement is not commercially reasonable.

3. Authorized Service and Repair

3.1 Warranty service may be performed by:

  • GRWC’s own service workshop in Grand Rapids, Michigan;

  • GRWC’s designated authorized technicians (which may include named independent watchmakers appointed by GRWC); and/or

  • GRWC’s manufacturing partner when a defect requires factory-level repair or replacement.

3.2 Work performed by these authorized parties does not void this Limited Warranty.

3.3 Any opening, modification, or repair of the Product by a person not expressly authorized or pre-approved in writing by GRWC may void this Limited Warranty for the affected components.

4. What This Limited Warranty Does Not Cover

This Limited Warranty does not cover:

  • Normal Wear and Cosmetic Changes

    • Scratches, dents, chips, or marks on the case, bezel, crystal, or bracelet.

    • Normal bracelet stretch, coating or finish wear, fading of lume, or color changes due to age, sweat, or environmental exposure.

  • Straps and Bracelets as Consumables

    • Leather, rubber, fabric, and other straps, and normal wear of metal bracelets and clasps, except for clear manufacturing defects in solid components.

  • Damage from Misuse, Accidents, or Improper Handling

    • Impacts, drops, crushing, extreme vibrations, or other shocks.

    • Damage caused by forcing the crown or pushers, cross-threading the crown, or operating functions outside the instructions in the manual.

  • Water or Moisture Damage (No Coverage)

    • Any water, liquid, or moisture damage of any kind is excluded from this Limited Warranty, regardless of how the watch is labeled or what depth rating it may have.

    • This includes, without limitation, condensation under the crystal, rust or corrosion inside the case, or malfunction attributed to water or moisture exposure, even if the watch was worn within any published water-resistance specification.

  • Magnetization and Harsh Environments

    • Rate issues or malfunctions caused by strong magnetic fields, corrosive chemicals, extreme temperatures, or other environmental conditions outside those described in the owner’s manual.

  • Unauthorized Modifications or Customizations

    • Aftermarket dials, hands, crystals, bezels, coatings, or other modifications not performed or pre-approved in writing by GRWC.

    • Damage arising from opening the caseback or altering the movement by a non-authorized person.

  • Loss, Theft, or External Events

    • Loss, theft, or damage resulting from fire, natural disaster, or other events better addressed by insurance.

  • Products Not Purchased From Authorized Channels

    • Watches that cannot be reasonably verified as genuine GRWC products or that lack a valid proof of purchase from GRWC or an authorized GRWC retailer.

5. How to Obtain Warranty Service

To make a warranty claim during the Warranty Period:

5.1 Contact GRWC First

  • Use the warranty/repair form at: grwatchco.com or email edward@grwatchco.com

  • Provide your name, contact information, serial number (if applicable), proof of purchase, and a description of the issue. Photos or short video clips are strongly encouraged.

5.2 Initial Assessment and Authorization

  • GRWC will review your claim and may request additional information.

  • If the issue appears to be covered, GRWC will issue a return authorization ("RMA") with shipping instructions to either:

    • the GRWC service address in Grand Rapids, or

    • a designated service partner.

5.3 Shipping

  • Unless otherwise agreed, you are responsible for the cost of shipping the Product to GRWC’s service address.

  • If GRWC determines that the issue is covered under this Limited Warranty, GRWC will cover the cost of return shipping back to you.

  • For clearly dead-on-arrival ("DOA") Products reported within the period defined in GRWC’s return policy, GRWC may cover both inbound and outbound shipping at its discretion.

5.4 Inspection and Repair

  • Upon receipt, GRWC or an authorized technician will inspect the Product.

  • If a covered defect is confirmed, GRWC will repair or replace the Product, or refund the purchase price if repair or replacement is not commercially reasonable.

  • If the issue is not covered (for example, it results from misuse, normal wear, or another exclusion), GRWC will provide a quote for a paid repair or offer to return the Product unrepaired. You may be responsible for return shipping and a reasonable inspection fee in such cases.

5.5 Turnaround Time

  • Typical service times for local repair are in the range of several weeks, but may be longer in peak periods or when factory-level work or special-order parts are required. These timeframes are estimates, not guarantees.

5.6   Products Marked as “As is” “Final Sale” or Similar

·        Products Marked as “As is” “Final Sale” or similar will not be covered under this warranty.

7. Duration of Implied Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, any implied warranties, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the two-year Warranty Period of this Limited Warranty.

Some states and countries do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • GRWC’s total liability under this Limited Warranty shall be limited to the original purchase price of the Product.

  • GRWC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of time, loss of use, loss of data, loss of profits.
