The Urban Field is the first Grand Rapids Watch Company watch that’s designed and built for wherever life takes you. I was inspired by tool watches of the past when I created this watch, but I was equally inspired by walks and bike rides around Grand Rapids. Most who wear a field watch do so around town just as much if not more than off the grid, so that was the basis of the design for this unique piece. The sandblasted case adds a unique field watch look while the black Arabic numerals provide great legibility in all situations. The 10ATM water resistance ensures that this watch will be just as at home in a rainstorm as it will be walking the dog around the block, while the Seiko VH31 gives The Urban Field the satisfying second hand sweep of a mechanical watch while providing all the benefits of a quartz timepiece. Due to its natural home in the city, $5 from the sale of The Urban Field will go to the Friends of Grand Rapids Parks, an organization which “engages our community in enhancing our city’s parks, trees, and green spaces through volunteerism, park activation, philanthropy, and urban forestry.” Grand Rapids Watch Company has no formal relationship with this charity. These donations will be made after watch or watches are delivered.
